MY OBSESSION: KEITH HARING BY PATRICIA FIELD CAP SLEEVE DRESS

I'm happy to say that I am the proud owner of this Keith Haring by Patricia Field Snake Dress I got at the Patricia Field boutique in the Lower East Side.  The cool graphics and intricate details of this piece first caught my eye but it wasn't until a friend pointed out that the design was created by the late artist Keith Haring that this dress turned into my latest obsession.

Keith Haring

One of the most prolific artists of his time, Haring rose to fame during the 80's with his subway chalk drawings.  His work then became know internationally with his wall murals and other exhibitions featured in Australia, Europe, and Brazil.  Haring's work often depicted certain causes that he supported like ending apartheid and the crack epidemic.  One of his most famous murals entitled Crack is Wack is still a landmark in Harlem, NY.  A social activist, Haring also spoke out against Aids, a disease that took his life in 1990 at the tender age of 31.  Here's a look at some of his work.

Dear Estilo,
I love that Keith Haring dress, i myself own a few Keith pieces however none as trendy as this one :), might i add that this is a wonderful expression of respect for BOTH Patricia field as well as Keith Haring who was a great artist who adorned out city walls, t-shirts and community with his beautiful artwork, expressing current events , AIDS awareness and the love of a good club/dance party. Unfortunately he succumbed to AIDS way ahead of his time.
Once again BRAVO!! Dahling BRAVO!!
