PARIS COUTURE WEEK

Couture Week in Paris brought out some dazzling pieces from top designers like Chanel, Elie Saab, and Armani Privé.  Designer Giorgio Armani was heavily influenced by the recent tragedy in Japan when creating his collection.  His work displayed rich colors and interesting origami inspired shapes especially with his headwear.  Meanwhile Karl Lagerfeld took the iconic Chanel tweed to a new level by making it neon.  He also played with proportions by adding peplum and shook things up with feathers, fringe, and sheer skirts.

My favorite couture collection by far was Elie Saab.  The designer constructed gorgeous red carpet ready gowns in skin flattering hues from creamy white to inky blue.  The ethereal dresses were draped in body hugging silhouettes in shimmery fabrics.
