LOOK WE LOVE: BLAKE LIVELY

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively hit up the Teen Choice Awards last night in this tangerine colored Gucci creation from the Resort 2012 collection.  She finished her look with cheetah print Louboutins and dangly turquoise earrings.  The rising actress chose the perfect summer hue and smart accessories to complement her outfit but her best addition was her megawatt smile.

FOURTH OF JULY FASHION

4th of July Fashion

Independence day is right around the corner and there will be plenty of barbecues, parades and parties, not to mention fireworks.  I've put together a look using Polyvore.com that will surely sizzle this Fourth of July.  Pair this starred and studded Balmain tee with a simple pair of denim cut off shorts.  The braid detail around the pockets is mimicked on the shoes and cross-body bag.  I finished the look with a pair of metal framed aviators with blush colored lenses.

LOOK WE LOVE: KERRY WASHINGTON

Kerry Washington is stunning in this color blocked Gucci creation she wore to the Mary J. Blige Honors Concert.  Despite the fact that her dress dips daringly low in the front, Washington keeps it classy with bronze strappy heels, an oversized clutch, and a simple braided 'do.  This outfit, part of the Spring 2011 collection, will be sure to turn heads.

Only one event draws the hottest musicians, actors, top designers, and supermodels year after year and that is the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum in New York.  This year was no different as Rihanna, Kanye West, Jennifer Lopez, Karl Lagerfeld, and Naomi Campbell just to name a few, flocked to the red carpet.  The theme was Savage Beauty named after the exhibit that pays homage to Alexander McQueen, the late designer best known for his exquisite tailoring and unconventional pieces.

MILAN FASHION WEEK FALL 2010

Gucci

The fashion house celebrated its 90th anniversary this year and for the Fall show they pulled out all the stops.  Long flowing dresses in bright vivid colors graced the runway as well as some sheer numbers over hot pants.  But the star of the show was the luscious furs in almost every color imaginable.  They came in small proportions, i.e. a deep violet shrug over a suede jacket and matching skirt, or large like the teal bomber paired with a slinky snakeskin skirt.

Dolce & Gabbana

This season the pair took the ABCs to a whole new level with every look featuring the letters of the alphabet.  Everything from skirts, dresses, and even leggings were alphabetized.  The colors were bright neon pinks, yellows, and oranges.  Although the designers had fun with this collection, it seemed to be rather one-dimensional.

Versace

Donatella Versace's creations bloomed as models wore black sheaths with bright flower adornments.  Other sheaths were dressed up by adding a squiggle of seafoam green or purple.  Versace's leather two-piece jacket and skirt sets were military inspired while the slim silhouette of the finale gown with just a hint of wispy fringe at the bottom really caught my eye.
