While designers were getting ready to display their new looks for next year's Spring season for Fashion Week, Catherine Malandrino decided to take a step back and show looks for Fall.  This was a smart move considering most designers show their collections months before they appear in stores.  Why not display what's available now so customers can get a jumpstart their Fall wardrobes?

Partnering with celebrity stylist June Ambrose, who put together ensembles featuring her fabulous turbans, Malandrino's showcase featured several jersey gowns and jumpsuits in royal blue and emerald green, fitting attire for a Holiday party or a night out on the town.  And I'm dying for a pair of her wool wide leg pants.  Very office chic.  But the outerwear stole the show in the form of a snug little bolero covered in mirrored cutouts and a studded cropped jacket recently worn by Alicia Keys.

I wasn't able to get the best pictures from my perch in the second row, but I managed to get some snapshots that conveyed the true essence of the show.  Enjoy!
