FASHION WEEK 2010: NEW YORK

This past week was a major event in New York as designers presented their Spring 2011collections. It was the first time fashion week moved out of the tents in Bryant Park and into the historic Lincoln Center. Here is a rundown of some of my favorite designers:

BCBG
I looove BCBG and was excited to see what they had in store for Spring and they did not disappoint. Light, airy dresses in neutral shades of white, beige, and lemon yellow with a shock of bright tangerine graced the runway.

CYNTHIA ROWLEY
I was feeling the circle cutouts on the skirts and blouses. It gave the garment a playful feel without looking tacky. However I wasn't too crazy about the cabochon buttons. It looked like she stuck magnets all over the outfits and that made it look cheap.

VIVIENNE TAM
Who knew crochet could look this good? Not just for chunky sweaters, Ms. Tam modernizes this technique and makes it spring chic. This first dress is perfect for the beach and the intricate neckline on the second makes this a must have for the upcoming season.
