LOOK WE LOVE: BEYONCE

Pop singer Beyonce was recently spotted in Paris wearing this color blocked polka dotted dress by Marc Jacobs pulled from his Fall 2011 collection.  She completed her look with black peep toe Louboutins and a black leather Balmain bag.  I love how she looks effortlessly chic in this ensemble.  Sans the white shirt and spotted tights that graced the runway at the Marc Jacobs show, Beyonce shows that she is fashion forward and ready for Spring.

SHOP AND ROCK AT THE PATRICIA FIELD BOUTIQUE

Tonight I enjoyed a trunk show at the Patricia Field boutique in the Lower East Side of Manhattan   featuring designs by Rue 107, Natasha NYC, Noir NYC, and Stylist Owned by Alisha Crutchfield.  The boutique offers a wide array of merchandise.  While exploring the territory I came across everything from bow ties to wigs and turbans, candles, lingerie, and even penis arousal gel!  Decorated in loud colors and funky mannequins, the store is just as eclectic as it's owner, costume designer Patricia Field, best known for her work on Sex and the City and recently spotted here at the Richie Rich Villionaire fashion show.

CELEBS IN STYLE: STUDDED LEATHER JACKETS

What's more classic than a tough leather jacket?  A staple in many wardrobes, this standard is being tricked out with studs.  Seen on Alicia Keys, Nicole Richie, and Teyana Taylor, studded jackets are one spring trend that won't be going away anytime soon.

Alicia Keys, shown here with hubby Swizz Beatz, is not afraid of color in this cropped Catherine Malandrino creation
Teyana Taylor looks rocker chic in her Robin's Jean jacket paired with ripped jeans and open-toe stilettos

This favorite amongst celebs has also been spotted on the pages of Vogue and Elle magazine.  In the March issue of Vogue, model Arizona Muse rocks a Balmain studded lambskin jacket complete with zippers, safety pins, and metal stars.  It's a little too much for my taste.  But the Burberry Prorsum coat worn by actress Emma Roberts in Elle's April edition with its studded collar and spiky shoulders gave me goosebumps. For a cool $6,000 you can own one too.

COVERT SHOE LAB LAUNCH

Last night I went to the opening of the Covert Shoe Lab at Limelight Marketplace in Chelsea.  Described as a "footwear boutique offering styles for all walks of life", the shop did offer a variety of merchandise.  Where else can you find a pair of hot pink Doc Martens and a Terry Kennedy Supra skate shoe under the same roof?  With prices ranging from around $59 for a pair of Keds to $275 for some Chukka boots your wallet won't suffer too much.

The design was somewhat distinct, there was a wall of shoes, each one situated inside a cubby hole with backlighting that gave the room a space age ambiance.  But the store was cramped with one bench to try on and not more than 15 people could fit inside comfortably.

While at the event I ran into this stylish attendee rocking a mean shoe with gold studded cuffs around the ankle.  Her name is Karen Ko and she is a jewelry designer whose pieces have turned up on the runways at Richie Rich and Indashio and on the pages of Upscale magazine.  Turns out she designed the cuffs she wore on her wrists and ankles.  Talk about ingenuity.  Who knew that adding the right ankle accessory to an otherwise ordinary heel could turn it into something extraordinary?

MY OBSESSION: SASS AND BIDE MINI DRESS

The other day while I was surfing the net I came across this Sass and Bide one shoulder mini dress and I immediately fell in love.  What caught my eye was the exotic tribal print, sexy off the shoulder neckline, and a belt that cinches the waist and accentuates the figure.  If I could afford this dress (it cost a whopping $545) I would pair it with simple accessories: some gold bangles, dangly earrings, and a neutral bag, as well as a pair of nude pumps.  Here's how I would style it.

LOOK WE LOVE: JENNIFER HUDSON

I still can't believe the transformation that Jennifer Hudson has gone through over the past year.  She went from plus size to slim and trim in what seems like the blink of an eye.  And in the midst of it all a new style queen has emerged.  Seen here rocking a black sleeveless top, hot pink mini, and Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, this outfit is simple and perfect for Spring.

CELEBS IN STYLE: NUDE PUMPS

When it comes to footwear for Spring, the It color is no color at all.  Reality star Kim Kardashian, model Selita Ebanks, and socialite Nicky Hilton were all spotted recently wearing nude heels.  While this trend works perfectly with just about any outfit, it really goes well with Spring's other big trend, bright colors.
